Darwin Nunez is subject to interest from one of Saudi Arabia’s biggest football club according to the latest report from Italy.
The Uruguayan player’s future is one of the biggest issues for the club this summer as he is attracting interest from Atletico Madrid and Saudi Arabia.
The 25-year-old forward, who arrived as Liverpool’s record signing for £85 million in 2022, has endured a disappointing 2024-25 campaign that has seen him relegated to the fringes of the first team and sparked intense speculation about his future.
The Uruguayan international was relegated to a supporting role this season, making just eight Premier League starts while coming off the bench 21 times.
His return of five goals and three assists in 29 league appearances represents a disappointing output for a player acquired for such a substantial fee.
Liverpool are minded to sell him after rejecting an offer from Al-Nassr last January.
The club refused to sanction a deal for Nunez in the winter because they were still fighting on four fronts.
So they were unwilling to entertain a mid-season sale of Nunez, leading Al-Nassr to redirect their attention to Colombian forward Jhon Duran.
However, Liverpool are open to selling Nunez this summer, and Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal have been named a potential buyer.
According to journalist Alfredo Petulla, the Liverpool man is among attacking options Al-Hilal will consider, should they fail to land Victor Osimhen.
The Nigerian striker is high on their whishlist and Al-Hilal have sent in a bid for him.
However, Napoli rejected the offer, as they value the Nigerian higher.
There is also the matter of Osimhen wanting to go to Saudi, with the Napoli striker said to be keen remaining at the top level.
